Attractions in Southern Dalmatia
Postup sits at the heart of the Pelješac Peninsula, perfectly placed for exploring Southern Dalmatia. From Villa More, you can reach the island of Korčula by ferry in fifteen minutes, and the walls of old Dubrovnik by car in about an hour.
Within a single day you have everything: a medieval city on the UNESCO World Heritage List, vineyards producing some of the finest red wines in Croatia, salt pans and oysters in Ston, the green lakes of Mljet National Park, and the intimate town of Orebić with its seafaring history.
The Pelješac Peninsula makes an excellent base precisely because it has its own character — and the surrounding area rewards every trip you take.
Korčula
The island of Korčula lies just across the strait. From Orebić you can reach it by ferry in fifteen minutes — one of the closest and most rewarding day trips from Villa More.
The Old Town of Korčula is one of the best-preserved medieval urban layouts on the Adriatic: narrow stone lanes, Gothic palaces, and the Cathedral of St Mark rising above the whole town. Marco Polo was born here — or so the locals claim, and it’s hard not to believe them.

From Postup to the ferry terminal in Orebić is around 10 km (15 min by car). The ferry to Korčula runs every 30–60 minutes, crossing time 15 min. Total from the villa around 30–40 minutes.
Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful cities on the Mediterranean, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and enclosed by powerful 14th-century defensive walls overlooking the open sea. From Villa More you can reach it in about 1.5 hours by car via the Pelješac Bridge.
The most impressive experience is walking the walls — nearly 2 km of route with views over the red-tiled rooftops of the Old Town and the Adriatic. The cable car up to Mount Srđ is also worth it, offering a panorama that stretches across the entire city and the nearby islands.

Orebić
Orebić is the nearest town to Villa More, known as the town of sea captains. For centuries, commanders of the Ragusan fleet set sail from here, and their grand houses still line the seafront promenade today. The town is quiet, intimate, and a convenient base for an evening walk or shopping.
It is worth climbing the hill to the 15th-century Franciscan monastery, which offers one of the finest views of the strait and Korčula on the entire peninsula. On the way back, stop by the Maritime Museum with its collection of Roman artefacts, ship models, and the history of local seafaring.

Dingač and Postup Vineyards
The vineyards start literally outside the window of Villa More. Postup is one of the two protected appellations on the Pelješac Peninsula, and Plavac Mali grapes ripen on steep, rocky slopes with views over the sea. It is precisely this combination of sun, stone, and the Adriatic that makes the wines here some of the finest reds in Croatia.
It is worth driving a few kilometres to the village of Potomje and taking the famous tunnel cut through the rock down towards the Dingač appellation. The sight of vineyards dropping straight towards the sea is something to see. Local wineries offer tastings straight from the producer.

Mljet National Park
Mljet is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic and the only one in the region where almost a third of its area is a national park. Instead of beaches and resorts, you will find dense forests, silence, and two saltwater lakes connected by a narrow channel to the sea.
The greatest attraction in the park is the islet of St Mary in the middle of the Great Lake, with a 12th-century Benedictine monastery. You reach it by small boat, and the view of the lake surrounded by pine forest is one of the most unexpected and breathtaking sights in all of Dalmatia. An 11 km walking trail runs around the lake, and rental shops in Pomena and Polače offer kayaks and bicycles.

From Postup to the ferry terminal in Prapratno around 40 km (approx. 40 min by car). Ferry to Sobra on Mljet takes 45 minutes.
Ston and Mali Ston
Ston is one of the most remarkable places on the entire Pelješac Peninsula. It is encircled by 14th-century stone defensive walls stretching for more than 5 km across the hills — among the longest medieval walls in Europe, often compared to the Great Wall of China. Walking the walls with views over the salt pans and the bay is an unmissable part of any visit.
Just next door lies Mali Ston, famous for oyster and mussel farming in the clean waters of the bay, a tradition going back to ancient times. In 2019, the Mali Ston oyster became the first marine product in Croatia to receive a European Union Protected Designation of Origin certificate. A few steps from the harbour you will find restaurants serving oysters straight from the sea.
